City Launches “Pop Up City Hall”
Grand Forks, ND –The City of Grand Forks is excited to launch “Pop Up City Hall” to help residents share their input on city issues.
Mayor Michael R. Brown and the Grand Forks City Council have made engaging and communicating a priority for Grand Forks City government. Traditional methods of City Council meetings and even town hall meetings are not meeting the expectations of reaching people, providing information, and listening to residents. The “Pop Up City Hall” concept is designed around the idea the City should “Go where people are.”
“We understand not everyone can get to City Hall to give their input at city meetings,” Said Mayor Brown. “These Pop Up City Halls will give residents an opportunity to talk with city officials without the formality of a government meeting.”
Elected officials and city staff will show up at events around town with a red and white umbrella, armed with free popsicles to get input and offer City services.
At a “Pop Up City Hall” residents are encouraged to take a quick survey and give feedback to local officials on pressing topics in our community.
The first “Pop Up City Hall” will be a Lincoln Park tonight before the Grand Forks Park District Movie in the Park event. Grand Forks officials will be on hand starting at 8:30 p.m.
Other scheduled “Pop Up City Hall” events include:
July 22, 2017 – Town Square Farmer’s Market 9 a.m.
