GF Wastewater Discharge May Impact River Ice

The City of Grand Forks will be discharging treated wastewater from its lagoon system continuously throughout the winter months. This discharge may create weakened ice or open water near the discharge point.

Outdoor enthusiasts are advised to stay clear of the site, which is located on the Red River near 54^th Ave. N.

Warning signs have been placed on the river bank – upstream and downstream – near the site. Pylons will also be erected in the river ice to warn the public to avoid that area.
