    NARRATIVE

    On 2-21-13 PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point). received a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred at Famous Footwear. Grand Forks Police Dept. officers responded to the area. PSAP reported that a man had left the area in a white pickup eastbound, they gave a partial plate. A Grand Forks police officer saw the vehicle several blocks away and a short chase ensued. The pickup was eastbound in the 1800 blk of 30th Ave S and struck a Midcontinent Communications van causing severe damage to the vehicle. The driver and another male in the pickup then fled on foot. A short time later other officers saw the driver on 28th Ave. S. and apprehended him after a short foot chase. The driver is identified as Steven Robert Schubert, age 27 of Williston, ND. Schubert was brought to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. Charges are pending against Schubert for Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Under Suspension, Fleeing From Police in a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing From Police on foot, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident
