Cyrstal Schneider was first elected to the Grand Forks City Council in June of 2014.
Who is Crystal:
Schneider is originally from Fargo, North Dakota and is a graduate of North Dakota State University. She and her husband, Mac Schneider, who represents Grand Forks’ District 42 in the North Dakota Senate, moved to Grand Forks about 7 years ago. They make their home on University Avenue with their 2 year old daughter, Merritt.
In December 2012, Schneider left her position as Executive Director at Red River Valley Habitat for Humanity when she chose to stay at home to care for her daughter full time. Prior to her work with Habitat, she served as an Assistant Track and Field coach at the University of North Dakota from 2008 through 2011. She has also held positions with Habitat for Humanity chapters in Long Beach, California and the Washington, DC area.
