The Grand Forks Emergency Management Office is responsible for coordination of the City and the County's response to emergency situations and disasters such as:
Hazardous material incidents
Mass casualty incidents
Acts of terrorism
And much more
To accomplish this the Emergency Management Office and our partners have developed the joint City and County Local Emergency Operations Plan, or the LEOP. This plan provides the framework upon which the city and county of Grand Forks prepares for, responds to, and performs its emergency response functions.
Be Prepared, Make a Plan
There are many things that can occur unexpectedly. It is good to be prepared and have a plan in place. You can find ways to develop a plan and keep your family/business safe by checking out some of these websites below, or just contact the Grand Forks Emergency Management Office and we will help you get started.
Be Aware, winter is Here
Winter is here and we must remember to be aware of the cold and its dangers. Be sure you have a car kit in case you get stranded, a charged cell phone with emergency contacts, and a full tank of gas. Also keep warm winter clothing in your car in case you have to spend time in your vehicle waiting for help.
